Residents: Give us clean water first |

KLANG: Klang Valley residents want water quality to be improved to justify the hike in the water tariffs.
Most of them also said that there was no justification for a water tariff hike while “brownish” water still flowed from their taps.
Restaurateur Lim Hua Siong, 49, wants the Government to get Syabas to provide clean water to the taps before the tariffs can be imposed.

50.3% variance in Talam's reported losses |

PETALING JAYA: Talam Corporation Bhd has announced a 50.3% variance in its reported losses between the company’s unaudited financial results and its audited financial statements for the year ended Jan 31.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said this variance amounted to RM258.4mil.

RESIDENTS of various areas in Petaling Jaya Utara will be in for better
recreational fields, as they will soon be upgraded, thanks to MP Datin
Paduka Chew Mei Fun.
Chew’s office received a total of RM694,000 fund from the Housing and
Local Government Ministry to upgrade nine fields in the constituency.

A NEW single-storey police beat base costing more than RM100,000 has opened in Setia Alam.
The beat base named Pengkalan Bit Setia Alam U13, Shah Alam, will have a policeman stationed there during office hours to ensure that the township will develop into a safe and secure one in view of the crime rate nowadays.

Rapid KL's new system to cover six areas |

RAPID KL will launch its final new bus network system on Sept 16 and will cover the largest areas in the Klang Valley since it first started its new service in January this year.
Chief Operating Officer (Bus Operations) Mohd Ali Mohd Nor said the soon to be launched network system would cover Klang, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Damansara, Petaling Jaya and Puchong and these areas are also known as Areas 5 and 6.

Talam temporarily suspended |

PETALING JAYA: Property developer Talam Corp Bhd is suspended from trading on Bursa Malaysia from Friday "until further notice" due to a winding-up petition served on a wholly-owned subsidiary, Lestari Puchong Sdn Bhd.
Talam said it would file an appeal to the Court of Appeal against the winding-up order by the High Court, and also an application for stay of the Official Receiver in exercising his powers as a liquidator.
