RESIDENTS of various areas in Petaling Jaya Utara will be in for better recreational fields, as they will soon be upgraded, thanks to MP Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.

Chew’s office received a total of RM694,000 fund from the Housing and Local Government Ministry to upgrade nine fields in the constituency.

The upgrading works at the various fields involve simple things like repairing jogging tracks and broken equipment, upgrading badminton and basketball courts to adding community and a multipurpose hall.

The fields involved are at Jalan SS2/6, Jalan SS23/7, Jalan SS24/17, Jalan SS20/23, Jalan BM1/4 in Taman Mayang Emas, Jalan SS2/32, Jalan 19/8 and Jalan SS25/21.

During a visit to the Jalan SS23/7 field on Aug 30, Chew urged residents to take notice and be aware of construction works on the fields.

She said it is important for the residents to take notice and complain to the relevant authority if the construction is not carried out according to what has been planned earlier.

“I have also told the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to be empower members of the RAs and RTs to always represent people to monitor projects in their own areas to ensure their satisfaction with the facilities,” said Chew before stopping to visit the field at Jalan SS2/6.
