It has been six long years and residents of eight townships in Balakong are demanding to know why the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) is taking so long to connect the link road between Taman Ehsan Impian and Taman Karun Mas.
The 4.5km Persiaran Impian is supposed to link Taman Desa Karun Mas (TDKM) and Taman Setia (TS) from the Balakong highway, but part of it, about 1.5km of the mud road, cuts through a private land belonging to a religious school – Sekolah Rakyat Agama Kafa Integrasi Al-Ehsaniyyah (SRAKIA).
The link road could not be connected as a housing project in the area was abandoned and several housing developers with development projects in the area had to seek the help of the school to allow temporary passage.
MPKj had promised to look into the matter but six years have passed and the residents feel enough is enough after the religious school had voiced out their intention of taking over their property.
And if this happens, residents of Taman Desa Karun Mas and Taman Setia will not have an outlet.
Presently the road serves more than 10,000 houses, which include Taman Setia 1, Taman Setia 2, Desa Karun Mas, Bukit Mas, Taman Sinaran, Taman Impian Ehsan 1, 2 and 3.
Serdang MP Datuk Yap Pian Hon recently met with the residents to form a committee comprising two representatives from each housing area to address the problem with MPKj.
