RAPID KL will launch its final new bus network system on Sept 16 and will cover the largest areas in the Klang Valley since it first started its new service in January this year.
Chief Operating Officer (Bus Operations) Mohd Ali Mohd Nor said the soon to be launched network system would cover Klang, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Damansara, Petaling Jaya and Puchong and these areas are also known as Areas 5 and 6.
During a meeting with residents at Bandar
Kinrara recently, Mohd Ali, who was with Puchong MP Lau Yeng Peng,
briefed them on the new network system.
“This is the first of our community meeting to inform the residents in
Puchong about the new bus service which will be launched in
mid-September. With the launch of Areas 5 and 6, the new network system
in the Klang Valley is complete,’’ said Mohd Ali.
He said after the launch residents would be offered three days of free
service until Sept 18. This, he said, was to give them a feel of Rapid
KL’s synchronised bus system, which will also link to the rail system.
The new system, he added, would have nine routes for local shuttles
with a 15-minute frequency and one designated trunk line service with a
10-minute frequency as compared to the old system, which services four
routes.
“The routes on the new system would synchronise with the old routes to provide for more efficient travel,’’ added Mohd Ali.
The fares for the service are RM1 for local shuttle, RM2 for trunk line
service and RM2 for city shuttle. There is also the ultimate day pass
ticket at RM7, valid on all Rapid KL buses including LRT service on
Kelana Jaya, Ampang and Sri Petaling lines.
Service for all local shuttles will commence as early as 5.30am and end at 1am.
Meanwhile, trunk line and city shuttle service will commence at 6am until midnight daily.
