Cars partly buried in wall collapse |

KUALA LUMPUR: They were waiting for the traffic lights to turn green in Sri Hartamas when a 10m-high retaining wall fell, partly burying their cars with earth.
“The wall just gave way, causing an electrical pole to fall on my car. I got out immediately and ran,” said Telekom Malaysia senior assistant manager Burhanudin Muhammad Dunia, 43, who was on his way home to Gombak.
His Honda Accord and three other cars were partly buried by earth brought down by the collapsed wall at about 6pm.
The cars were all waiting at the Jalan Sri Hartamas 1 traffic light next to a three-storey linkhouse project.
Most of the victims were on their way home from
work and were using the road as a shortcut to avoid the heavy traffic
along Jalan Duta.
Christine Siow, 45, thought there was an accident behind her when she heard a loud bang.
“Suddenly debris was falling on my car. I got out and ran. I was
shocked to see that a wall had collapsed so near my car,” she said. Read the complete article here: The Star
