MPSJ urged to clear Section 14 of illegal hawkers PDF Print E-mail

ILLEGAL hawkers are setting up stalls in Section 14 Subang Jaya and residents are perturbed why the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) is not doing anything despite complaints. 

The Section 14 Subang Jaya Residents Association has filed several complaints against two hawkers operating on a kerb in Jalan SS14/1, as they say the hawkers do not clean up the area after conducting their business. 

Residents said MPSJ had promised to take action but it has been two weeks since complaints were filed with no action taken.


“Hawkers have set up stalls illegally on this stretch of the road and more keep appearing each week because the council is not taking action against them,” said a resident who declined to be identified. 

“The hawkers set up shop at night and leave a mess afterwards. Meanwhile, we have problems with traffic because people stop indiscriminately at the kerb to buy from these hawkers.”
