THE NKVE-Setia Alam Link, which provides direct access to Setia Alam and Setia Eco Park townships in Shah Alam, opened to traffic yesterday.
The townships’ developer SP Setia Berhad constructed the 7.5km two-lane dual carriageway link at a cost of RM150 mil.
Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, who officially declared the link open, praised SP Setia for taking the initiative to provide good infrastructure for its house-buyers.

“Apart from providing convenience for residents of the townships, the
Setia Alam Link also gives a positive effect to the surroundings by
bringing development to the North Klang – Shah Alam Corridor,’’ he
said.
Samy Vellu said he was confident that the link would be able to become
the main catalyst in economic development via the setting-up of more
residential areas in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, S.P. Setia Berhad chairman Datuk Abdul Rashid Abdul Manaff
said the company was happy that it had delivered what it had promised.
“We are proud to have fulfilled our promise to build and complete the
NKVE-Setia Alam Link, which is now ready for use by our residents to
ensure their convenience when commuting to and from key destinations in
the Klang Valley,’’ he added.
He said the completion of the link was timely as it coincided with the handover of the first batch of houses at Setia Alam.
Abdul Rashid said the link would greatly benefit Klang residents as the
journey to Damansara and Kuala Lumpur would be reduced to 10 minutes to
20 minutes respectively.
Among those present at the launch were Works Ministry parliamentary
secretary Datuk Yong Khoon Seng and Selangor deputy state secretary
Datuk Dr Abdul Munit Kasmin.
