RESIDENTS of Puncak Atheneum Condo in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang are fed-up with the poor service provided by the company overseeing the maintenance of its facilities.

They complain that over the last three years the company failed to take action to solve problems faced by the residents such as cracks on the wall, damaged roof tiles, murky water and break-ins.

Atheneum Condo Owners Association president Dr Almah Awaluddin said one of the residents was forced to house his family at a nearby hotel as the sewage pipe in his unit had given way, forcing sewage to overflow into his home.

“The water supply has been murky for a long time and nothing has been done to rectify the problem. Some of us are already experiencing skin rashes and eye infection as a result of using the dirty water,” said Dr Almah.

Another problem faced by the residents are theft and break-ins.
Dr Almah said one particular unit had been broken into four times so far this year.

“We have appealed to the maintenance company to improve security but unfortunately our plea has been ignored,” said Dr Almah.

The failure to repair damaged roof tiles at the condominium is also giving residents living at the top floors another headache. They have to clean bird droppings at their balcony.

“I have reported the bird droppings issue to the management office but they tell me that they do not have the money to repair my roof,” said resident Cheng Wei Loon.

“The condo management collects RM 70,000 a month as management fee from the residents and yet they claim they have no money to help us rectify our problems,” said Dr Almah.
